Fox News to the Rescue

Riveting coverage of Congressional Hearing

After wondering if Fox News was going to show up for the American people and cover the Congressional Hearing, I was amazed that Fox News stepped up and did just that.  I would have thought that their politics would get in the way.  Yet even their opinion pieces covered the Congressional Hearing.  Of course, their live coverage was a silent picture of the proceedings while the talking heads talked about the one issue that mattered the most.  Why didn’t Nancy Pelosi surround the Capitol with troops?  Or prepare the Capitol for the invasion of the people from the Trump rally?  After all, it must be her fault that the Capitol was invaded, right?

Even Sean made me proud.  [See, I referred to him by his first name, as any good Foxie would.  After all, he is a close friend.  I can reach out and touch his image on my TV.  He is that close.]  He bravely stood by the silent hearing screen and voiced the concerns of all Americans – why didn’t Nancy Pelosi do anything about Trump’s invasion force?

And not to be outdone, Fox’s FoxNews app team rocketed into action.  In their leadership of media coverage, they bravely and proudly informed their audience of the primetime committee hearing.  The coverage made it up to the 18th item on the site, just slightly below the country’s lifeguard shortage and something about Britney’s wedding.

So thanks, Fox News, for being the “fair and balanced” and “real” news organization.

Of course, I would have expected no less from Fox.  As this country tries to understand what exactly happened on that crazy day, I was hoping that everyone could put away their differences and cover this momentous hearing.  As the facts and historical context of this hearing will help shape America as it moves forward, it was important to me that all media outlets cover this, even with their own spin.  We as a nation need to understand what happened that day.

After all, it has come out that Vice President Pence had to call up the military because President Trump would not.  Since the Vice President had to assume the role of Commander-in-Chief, there are some basic questions that need to be answered besides who’s at fault for this calamity.

  1. Did Vice President Pence have the authority to call out the military to the Capitol?
  2. Since President Trump refused to take action as Commander-in-Chief, did he effectively abdicate from the Presidency that day?
  3. Was this an attempted coup by President Trump to stay in power?  Or just real hardball politics?
  4. Did Vice President Pence perform his own short-term coup in assuming the role of Commander-in-Chief of the military?
  5. Did Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff General Mark A. Milley violate the Constitution by following the “orders” of the Vice President?
  6. Was it assumed that President Trump had become mentally incapacitated to act that led to this conclusion?  If so, why wasn’t Article 25 implemented as Secretary DeVos requested of Vice President Pence?

Maybe Fox News or a REAL News Network or journalists will work to get these answers for the American people?  After all, it appears as if someone violated the Constitution and the rule of law (besides the invaders) on January 6th. Maybe

[Update – as of Saturday morning, 6/11/2022, Fox News surrendered it’s coverage of the January 6th Committee.]
