My Personal Covid Adventure – Day 9

Let the sanitizing begin. Closer to normal? Me, probably never

Another long night of sleep after a long day of exhaustion. I woke up once very nauseated but was able to get back to sleep. Yesterday between the tired stages, I was able to slowly put ornaments on the tree. And even that was tiring. I think it might be a bit longer before I’m ready to run a marathon or walk around the block.

The symptoms I’m having now are a little less but in some ways changing. No fever and just general mild aches. Some intermittent headaches. Some nasal congestion but that’s a norm for me in the winter. The odd ones are that my hearing is worse than usual even with my hearing aids, which is saying a lot. I have lost some of my leg hair. That one can happen to me from time to time when my neurologic symptoms are worse from my other diseases. But the oddest and most annoying are the spasms like ripples in my calves and my right arm. Very annoying. They don’t necessarily hurt, but they feel so odd.

I tested negative for the second day in a row. But I won’t put too much stock in the test results. First, I have never tested positive from any of the four at-home tests I have tried even though a regular lab report confirmed I had covid. Second, there is some concern that the new variants circulating may not only evade the vaccine but that they might evade detection in some tests. Third, I’m just an odd bird and if it seems to work on one person my body seems to take it another way. I credit the Gulf War for this oddity. That and I’ve been a little odd since birth. Or so I’m told.

Right now, I am slowly working on cleaning and sanitizing my area of the house. I am assuming I am probably out of the woods. But assuming and being sure are two different things. So for me, I will take it slow.

The other thing will be to wait and see if I get any rebound post-Paxlovid. It happens, but it doesn’t sound like it’s too big of a deal. Just another part of my personal covid adventure.

Again, I will choose joy. I pray that you can choose the same.
